  3. Hi! It's a very nice template! I would like to use it in my blog but the text about Jane Smith doesn't disappear! do you know how I can do that? Thanks!!!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hi Pika Raisin, so so sorry for replying so late. if you can't find the gadget which contains search and links then please download this template from here:

    http://btemplates.com/2009/04/08/craftwork/

    When you'll download the template from here, you'll see that there's another gadget included in the compressed archive. After installing the template, go to "Page Elements" tab and right under your "Header" widget, create a new "HTML/Text" widget. Then copy the data from the gadget in downloaded file to the newly created widget.

    If you still can't understand, feel free to ask for help.

  5. Hi Anonymous, well you can change the "About Us" text by going to "Edit HTML" tab. Then find "Hi, I'm Jane Smith and I write...". Simply change it.

  18. hey DKBTLT, just download this template from here.

    http://btemplates.com/2009/04/08/craftwork/

    You'll see that there is also another widget in this download. Install the template in normal way, after that create a new widget below your header widget in the "Page Elements" tab. The widget should be a "Text/HTML" widget. Put the contents of the widget which you downloaded into the newly created widget.

  21. I would like to know how to make the code for the menu/search etc line up with the boxes. When I come to do a search the cursor is actually above the box.
    My other question is with regards to the search facility. I have done preliminary searches to find that it searches google not my blog. How can I rectify this?
    Other than those minor problems I am very impressed with this blog template.
    Thanks in advance.

  30. Hi Julirose Supremo, yes you need to upload the xml file in "Edit HTML" section and also follow the instructions to setup the menu code.

    I've seen the "Children and Toys" template, it's really very cute and I'll try my best to convert it to Blogger ASAP.

  31. Hi Sara, the "About Me" button can't be removed because it is in the main background image, see this picture please:

    http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/Sdjrsyz76vI/AAAAAAAACjQ/IwqvJ2XX09Y/s1600/top-frame.jpg

    If you want to increase the overall width then find this code in your template HTML:

    #container {
    width: 675px;
    padding: 0 155px 0 169px;
    }

    and increase the width and see preview. Don't save till you're satisfied.

    Can you please help me?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hi Pei Pei just make sure that you've downloaded the template from the download link given above in this page and not from any where else on the web. TO set up the links, you need to follow the instructions on setup of navigation menu which are also given in detail on this page.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hi Τζίνα, Date with each post is already there, you need to change it's format. Go to "Settings" then "Formatting" scroll down and change the "Timestamp Format"

    ReplyDelete
  36. It was so simple! Thanks a lot!

  37. I've tried to change comments image to number of comments without success!
    I have to paste this (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/SjZFpPJI2zI/AAAAAAAAC1Y/DwPvWe3BV7c/s1600-h/Remove+comments+picture+in+craftwork+template.PNG) somewhere in the HTML code?

    ReplyDelete
  38. No, you don't need to put the image anywhere in the code. This image is just for assistance... actually you need to find this code by going to "Layout" | "Edit HTML" and check "Expand Widget Templates" and then searching for:

    <a class='read-comments' expr:href='data:post.addCommentUrl'><img alt='Read Comments' src='http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/Sdjrj2gVL6I/AAAAAAAACiQ/TlRUV2TULfE/s1600/read-comments.jpg'/></a>

    Once, you've found the above code, replace it with the following code:

    <span class='read-comments'><data:post.numComments/></span>

    before saving see preview and if there are number of comments rather than a picture, save your template.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I did'nt replace it but I put the number code next to the other, so if you can.. come to see! :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Τζίνα that looks fantastic....

    ReplyDelete
  41. hi, fantastic design.. i have set it up and for the navigation links, i guess i will need to set up these pages as posts and then linked the specific posts in the code. i believe blogger don't allow to set up pages so i have to set them up as posts.
    anyway, i will set these up later but currently i faced an issue here. i noticed that the alignment for the nav bar is a few inched higher than the image of the nav bar, this also applies to the search location image, thus is is a bit "ugly" when people click on the nav bar and also will mislead people when they type in the "search words" in the search location. can you help to solve this? i tried to figure it out but to no avail.. please help.. my blog is here >> http://plantamustardseed.blogspot.com/

    thanks... :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. did you received my ques? i can't see them here???
    or it is waiting to be approved before it is shown.. sorry.. jst need to confirm my ques is received.. thks..

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hi Plant a mustard seed in, actually all comments appear after my approval that's why you didn't saw your comment immediately.

    You're right about the pages, you need to create posts and then you can link them to the menu.

    Your problem regarding searchform and navbar alignments can be solved. Go to Layout | Edit HTML and find the following code in your template...

    /* Navigation */
    #navigation {
    margin: -5px 0 0 180px;*margin: -5px 0 0 95px;
    float: left;
    }
    #searchform {
    float: left;
    margin: -10px 0 0 100px;
    *margin: -10px 0 0 100px;
    }

    This code is responsible for alignment, you need to change some values in it. In Navigation

    /* Navigation */
    #navigation {
    margin: -5px 0 0 180px;*margin: -5px 0 0 95px;
    float: left;
    }

    try changing margin: -5px 0 0 180px; to margin: 0 0 0 180px; and save your template and see if the navbar has moved down a bit. If you're still not satisfied then you can change margin: 0 0 0 180px; to margin: 5px 0 0 180px; it will cause navbar to move down futher.

    For searchform you need to change this code:

    #searchform {
    float: left;
    margin: -10px 0 0 100px;
    *margin: -10px 0 0 100px;
    }

    change margin: -10px 0 0 100px; to margin: -5px 0 0 100px; save and see if the searchform is down to desired position, if not then change margin: -5px 0 0 100px; to margin: 0 0 0 100px; save and then again see if searchform is down.

    if you're not comfortable with all this stuff then you can also send me your template, I'll do it myself. to do this go to Layout | Edit HTML and click on "Download Full Template" link to save your template on your hard drive. then you can mail me:

  44. Hola
    Perdona que no escriba en Inglés, pero no pude usar un traductor. Deseo tu diseño, me gusta demasiado. Pero hay un problema, no entiendo como reemplazar "#"
    No entiendo lo que debo sustituir. Por favor, te agradecería mucho que me ayudes.
    Será posible explicar paso a paso más detalles?

  45. Hola tengo eliosa Traductor de Google en mi blog en la parte superior derecha de la barra lateral, puede traducir esta página en español y ver las instrucciones, si usted todavía tiene problemas solo dime, yo intentaré arreglarlo ....

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hello! thank you very much for reply. What happens is that, knew that he could not translate the page (thanks for that) but I fail to understand about reemplzar "#" with directions menu. What directions? or the code of the RSS button.
    Forgive the inconvenience, but there are people like me who struggle to understand a bit about codes. Thanks for everything and meet my doubts.

    ReplyDelete
  47. when you've opened the text file I've included with the template and you've pasted it to the widget above your header in Page Elements tab. this is the code in the widget:

    <div id="rss"><a href="#"><img alt="RSS" width="50" src="http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/wp-content/themes/craftwork/images/spacer.gif" height="50"/></a></div>

    <!-- navigation start -->

    <div id="navigation">
    <a href="#"><img alt="Home" width="82" src="http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/wp-content/themes/craftwork/images/spacer.gif" height="36"/></a>
    <a href="#"><img alt="About" width="82" src="http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/wp-content/themes/craftwork/images/spacer.gif" height="36"/></a>
    <a href="#"><img alt="Contact" width="120" src="http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/wp-content/themes/craftwork/images/spacer.gif" height="36"/></a>
    <a href="#"><img alt="FAQ" width="70" src="http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/wp-content/themes/craftwork/images/spacer.gif" height="36"/></a>
    </div>
    <!-- navigation end -->

    you need to make changes in the blog by modifying the links. for example first link is for your blog RSS feed like this:

    <div id="rss"><a href="#"><img alt="RSS" width="50" src="http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/wp-content/themes/craftwork/images/spacer.gif" height="50"/></a></div>

    change # in <a href="#"> to the address of your blog feed like I've created a feed for my blog which is http://feeds2.feedburner.com/bloggerfaqs so I'll change the RSS code by replacing # with http://feeds2.feedburner.com/bloggerfaqs and result is:

    <div id="rss"><a href="http://feeds2.feedburner.com/bloggerfaqs"><img alt="RSS" width="50" src="http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/wp-content/themes/craftwork/images/spacer.gif" height="50"/></a></div>

    Similarly, I'll change the navigation menu like (like home, about etc) by replacing # in their code by my own addresses. for example code for the "home" link is like this:

    <a href="#"><img alt="Home" width="82" src="http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/wp-content/themes/craftwork/images/spacer.gif" height="36"/></a>

    As you know, my blog address is http://bloggerfaqs.blogspot.com/ so i'll replace # with http://bloggerfaqs.blogspot.com/ and result will be like this:

    <a href="http://bloggerfaqs.blogspot.com/"><img alt="Home" width="82" src="http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/wp-content/themes/craftwork/images/spacer.gif" height="36"/></a>

    Similarly, I'll create a new post with title "About" which contain my blog and personal introduction and I'll replace the # in <a href="#"><img alt="About" width="82" src="http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/wp-content/themes/craftwork/images/spacer.gif" height="36"/></a> with the URL of that post. I can also make posts for FAQ and Contact links.

  48. Is there a way to make the search bar search my blog, and not google? Also, I'd like to be able to make the sidebar so the elements (text/headers) are more centered like the preview image at the top of this page. Is there a way I can do that? Thank you so much. :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Cheers Bilal,

    Sorry to trouble you. Like many others I am in desperate need of your help:) I have problems with how the top links "Home About Contact FAQ and search" line up. The RSS feed link and graphic lines up ok. But the others are way off to the left of the actual graphics you would click on.

    Example: When I placed the link to blogger edit under the "home" graphic, it ends up being about an inch over to the left, same problem with the search box as well. You end up having to type to the left of the search box by about an inch or so.

    Also, the little graphics on the right sidebar start out fine, but as you add other sections, the text begins to fall below the graphic and cannot be seen.

    my blog is here:
    http://happybanshee.blogspot.com/

    I understand a very tiny bit of html from years ago, but no CSS or skins stuff. I do hope you can help as I want to use this template very much, it's perfect for what I need and I just love it:)

    cheers,

  53. Hi there, this template is GORGIOUS! I want to apply it to my blogspot, but at the office I cant download .rar files.

    Is het possible that you email me this template as a wordplate?

    Cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  54. @ Janet, this template is in .rar format and don't worry simply download any file archiver software like 7-Zip which is free.

    http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sevenzip/7z465.exe

    In this software you can extract and use the .rar or .zip files.

    ReplyDelete
  55. hey
    i fixed the links
    but i still don't know how to change the about us picture
    thanks

    ReplyDelete
  56. @ D33D33ZRANTS!, the "About Us" is not a link title, it is actually part of a big background image and you can change it only by editing the background image.

    The code for the image is located in Edit HTML tab. The code you can find there is:

    http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/Sdjrsyz76vI/AAAAAAAACjQ/IwqvJ2XX09Y/s1600/top-frame.jpg

    which is the location of the image. So, if you're good in editing images then you can change "About Us" to something else.

    Or you can ask for my help in editing this image!

    ReplyDelete
  57. is that code in the content section, header section or somewhere else? sorry for not finding it :/

    and thanks for the offer!
    :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. @ D33D33ZRANTS!, I'll do it for you, just tell me what you want to be instead of "About Us"???

    Once I'll edit the image, I'll tell you how to apply it on your blog.

    ReplyDelete
  59. omg really? thanks so much
    i want about deedee
    instead of about us

  70. @ Janet, yes you can remove the toolbar which contains different social bookmarking buttons, just go to Edit HTML then check Expand Widget Templates and find this code:

    <div class='bookmark-line'><ul>
    <li><a expr:href='&quot;http://digg.com/submit?phase=2url=&quot; + data:post.url + &quot;&amp;title=&quot; + data:post.title' rel='external nofollow' target='_blank'><img alt='Digg' class='bookmark-icon' src='http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/Sdj7kqz8xEI/AAAAAAAACjs/ApnxWo-0gBU/s1600/digg.png'/></a></li>

  76. @ Peter, please download and install the error-free version which I've just released, it also contains a setup file.

    @ Ethel Edith, if you want to recover the navbar then go to Edit HTML section, find and delete this code:

    .Navbar {visibility:hidden;display: none;}

    If you want to add more buttons then you'll need to edit the background pic, if you don't know how to do that then tell me which buttons you want to add, I'll try to help you.

  77. @ Stitches In Time, sorry for replying late, I know how frustrating it is to be in a situation like this.

    First of all, fix your corrupt template by following the instructions at this page:

    http://blogging.nitecruzr.net/2007/06/template-corruption-components-missing.html

    After that you'll lose some styling but don't worry. Download the latest error-free version of this template which I've just (31-10-2009) uploaded right here. Then simply install the template and follow the instructions in the setup file included with the template.

  78. Hi Bilal - thank you so much for the help! The navigation bar is incredibly helpful!!

    On the buttons - I do not know how to do that. If you don't mind, I would love a button called For Sale and a button called Services.

    Thank you again for all your help. I'm new to this and all the tips have helped me greatly so far!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. @ Ethel Edith, to add two new buttons you've to remove a couple of existing buttons (like Home, About, Contacts or FAQs). So, tell me which of the existing buttons you want to remove so that I can add your desired buttons (Sale & Services)!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Hi Bilal - I would get rid of the Home button & the Contact button and replace them with the For Sale and Services. Thanks so much - you are going above & beyond for us! We truly appreciate it!!

  81. @ Ethel Edith, find the following address in Edit HTML tab:

    http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/Sdjrsyz76vI/AAAAAAAACjQ/IwqvJ2XX09Y/s1600/top-frame.jpg

    and replace it with the address below:

    http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/SvVNyStd7bI/AAAAAAAAD1E/MzSRLdE4DFs/s1600/top-frame2.jpg

  96. @ Maknae Eijah, I think you're directly uploading the .rar file. After downloading the template from here, you must extract it using any compression software like 7-Zip (Google it) and then upload the .XML file to Blogger.

  107. @ Christine Carol, I've edited the main background image and changed "About Us" to "About Me". To replace the current images with the new image, go to "Edit HTML" tab and find this code:

    http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/Sdjrsyz76vI/AAAAAAAACjQ/IwqvJ2XX09Y/s1600/top-frame.jpg

    and replace it with the following one:

    http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/SycwgIy-AOI/AAAAAAAAEFo/m-h7W4uZ5LE/s1600/top-frame2.jpg

    ------------------------------------------------

    To change the size of the text which comes under "About Me", just go to "Edit HTML" and find this code:

    #sidebar-top {
    width: 180px;
    height: 200px;
    }

    Just add a new CSS property (font-size) in it, now the code should look like this:

    #sidebar-top {
    width: 180px;
    height: 200px;
    font-size:15px;
    }

    As you can see, I've just added a very simple CSS property to control my font size. You can change the value "15px" to some other value.

    ------------------------------------------------

    To change the sidebar title color from white to black, simply find this code in "Edit HTML" tab:

    h2 {
    font-size: 1.6em;
    font-weight: bold;
    font-family: Arial;
    color: #fff;
    padding: 15px 0;
    text-align: center;
    background: url(http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/SdjrkNXWBYI/AAAAAAAACio/MP2Dh1GqvCs/s1600/sidebar-h.jpg) no-repeat;
    }

    and then replace it with the following code:

    h2 {
    font-size: 1.6em;
    font-weight: bold;
    font-family: Arial;
    color: #000;
    padding: 15px 0;
    text-align: center;
    background: url(http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/SdjrkNXWBYI/AAAAAAAACio/MP2Dh1GqvCs/s1600/sidebar-h.jpg) no-repeat;
    }

    If you've any more difficulties, feel free to ask for help, thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  108. @ Christine Carol, there's no way to hide a post on a blog. By giving an old date, we just try to make that post very old so that users won't see it on the main page. However, the post will be there on the blog and if someone clicks the "Older Posts" button again and again, of course he/she will also see the oldest of posts.

    ReplyDelete
  109. @ Terms & Conditions, you're not using this template!

  110. Thank you for help. I was able to change everything and it looks great. I love the template. Now I understand about the post. I thought there was a trick I was missing.

  111. hi, just wanting to know, how to make the font size bigger in the 'about me' section........other than that, this is a true work of art, part of my inspiration.....thank-you

    ReplyDelete
  112. @ lex, go to "Edit HTML" section and find following code:

    #sidebar-top {
    width: 200px;
    height: 160px;
    padding-left:20px;

    }

    Replace above code with the following code:

    #sidebar-top {
    width: 200px;
    height: 160px;
    padding-left:20px;
    font-size:15px;
    }

    Just change the value "15px" to increase or decrease the font size!

    First, happy new year and thank you for that wonderful template, I love it. I had fun installing it and stuff but now, it seems that I have a problem. I can't leave a comment. When I click on that "comment" button, I go to : http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/?p=354#comments

    It seems that one people also had that problem a while back... =(

  114. @ Celine x), yes you're right. I can't believe that I forgot to fix this thing earlier. But I've just uploaded the updated version. Now you go to "Edit HTML" and check "Expand Widget Templates" then find:

    href='http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/?p=354#comments'

    and replace it with the following line of code:

    expr:href='data:post.addCommentUrl'

    Save the template and sorry for inconvenience!

  119. Hi, I just added this template and I LOVE it. Im having one problem, and I'm not sure why, but its doing it with ANY template I try to use.

    The About Me section and everything in the second column is showing up down at the very bottom below the last post. And I tried to go to page elements and move it, but the text is sitting there by itself, not in a box. I have enough html knowledge to manage to make fonts bigger and all that, but I cant seem to fix this! Can you help?

    I just downloaded this version tonight, so I thought it was the most updated, but I also still see "about us" instead of me.

    ReplyDelete
  120. hai. How can replace text in home,about,contact and Faq. i want replace this text and fill in new text.

  121. @ DaJanaa_Z & Aidil, this problem was faced by many people, that is why I've just updated the post and added a step-by-step tutorial. Each step has it's own screen shot which will be great to help you out, just check that.

  122. @ Jordan, gimme your blog address and don't worry about "About Me", that can be fixed later :)

    ReplyDelete
  123. Hi, me again. My blog address is www.soitgo3s.blogspot.com

    I fixed the about me, I saw that on an earlier post. I just cant seem to fix the problem of everything on the 2nd column showing up at the bottom.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Its me again, I just went to post a new blog, and I noticed that when I view the post by itself, the about me and all the 2nd column is where it is supposed to be. But when I go to just view the blog as a whole, back to the bottom. Could it be something in my blog postings is too wide or something to let it show up on the side? Sorry I keep bugging you!!

    ReplyDelete
  125. @ Jordan, your blog is private! I can't access it :)

    ReplyDelete
  126. OOps, sorry, forgot that. I fixed it, you should be able to see it now.

    ReplyDelete
  127. @ Jordan, I've just visited your blog and the second column is in parallel with the posts on the right side! See this image:

    http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/S0T1CeKUf6I/AAAAAAAAEOw/EtPbIkbr79I/s1600/Your+blog.PNG

    ReplyDelete
  128. so is it only me that its not showing up right for? cause it shows up that way for me only when I view one post at a time, when I go to the home, viewing all of them, it all goes back to the bottom. If its just me, Im not worried about it, but I dont get why I cant see it that way.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I found out what was wrong, one of the posts that had pictures was too wide. as soon as I deleted those pictures on that one post, everything was fine! Thanks for your help with the other stuff!! I love this template!

    ReplyDelete
  130. @ Jordan, that could be possible. Just tell me which browser you're using and take a screen shot and send it to me. You can simply press "Print Screen" button on keyboard and then open any image editor (I use Microsoft Paint) and press "Ctrl + v". Save that image and send it to me. Also go to "Edit HTML" tab of Blogger and click "Download Full Template" to download the layout and also send that to me.

  133. After messing with this template for several hours (with no real success, even though I've never had a problem dealing with Blogger templates before) I have discovered that apparently I have an outdated version. I'm assuming the newest version is supposed to be downloadable from this very page, but every time I click Download, I get this:

    Your client does not have permission to get URL /files/Craftwork%20Blogger%20Template.xml from this server.

    You are attempting to perform an activity that you have insufficient permissions for. If you feel this is in error, please contact the project administrator.

    Can someone tell me how to get the most current version of this template? And hopefully if I spend several hours on that one, I'll be farther along than I am right now. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  134. @ Tina Grimes, sorry for the inconvenience caused by hosting problems. Anyways, now you can download the updated template with no bugs or problems :-)

    ReplyDelete
  135. Hi Bilal

    Thanks for the template :) I've got it all working smoothly except for the search facility.
    On your demo this does an internal search but on mine it attempts to do a google search (unsuccessfully).
    Also the search box still isn't quite aligned although I've followed the instructions above and the search button doesn't work so you need to press return instead.
    I don't mind if the search facility searches google or my blog as long as i can get it to work.
    Thanks again for such a lovely template

    ReplyDelete
  136. Hi pip,

    please download the template now. You're using an older version which contains Google Search. I've already removed that in the updated version. Just see the demo to feel the changes. Don't worry, if you'll install the updated layout, it will not affect the posts or comments on your blog.

  147. Hi, thank you for the beautiful template. I have read through the comments and watched your YouTube tutorial but 2 questions haven't really been answered:

    1. How do I make the search box fit into the search image? Currently, the search box pops up above the search image.

    2. How do I get the search engine search only within my blog and not on Google? Currently, an error page pops up when you type in key words to execute a search.

    I would greatly appreciate your help!

    ReplyDelete
  148. @ Flucky Mom, these issues were present in the earlier version of the template, now both of them have been resolved, please download the updated version from this page, thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Hi, I just downloaded the new version. I'm afraid I really don't like the new look of it. The "Home.About.FAQ.Contact" area was more organic to the look of the page in the original version. So is there a way you can answer my original questions about the search widget? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  150. @ Flucky Mom, would it be alright if I provide you the new version with original menu links???

    ReplyDelete
  151. That would be amazing! I really just want the search engine to line up correctly and for it to search within my blog (not through Google). Lastly, would you be so kind as to change the tag "About Us" to "About Me" THANK YOU!!

    ReplyDelete
  152. I just re-read what you wrote... Actually I liked the original version as is. Just want the search engine to line up correctly and for it to search the blog only. Plus, I don't want it to say "About US" but "About Me"

  153. Hi,

    i tried the first version and unable to get the alignment for the menu and searchform correct. RSS is ok. Menu and searchform is just below RSS but above the pictures.

    thanks!

  155. Hi, I'm using your updated Craftwork template and apparently people aren't able to comment. Can you please fix this for me ASAP? It's very important.

    Also, when I submit new entires, it only provides the time of post and not the date. Under settings I have both selected and yet nothing.

    Please respond. Thank you

  158. I have been reading through the comments and have tried to figure this out on my own. I watched your tutorial video as well, but the 'Home,' 'Comment' and 'FAQ' are not set up the same way as in the template. ReplyDelete
  161. Also, is there anyway to change the font and size of the title and title description without moving the navigation bar, rss feed, and search links?
