hi.. i love this templates. i want to use this template for my blog too.. but, when i upload the templates, some gadget did not apears.. only about me gadget appears.. the links, and search, above also didnt work.. please... anyone help me...
Hi! It's a very nice template! I would like to use it in my blog but the text about Jane Smith doesn't disappear! do you know how I can do that? Thanks!!!
Hi Pika Raisin, so so sorry for replying so late. if you can't find the gadget which contains search and links then please download this template from here:
http://btemplates.com/2009/04/08/craftwork/
When you'll download the template from here, you'll see that there's another gadget included in the compressed archive. After installing the template, go to "Page Elements" tab and right under your "Header" widget, create a new "HTML/Text" widget. Then copy the data from the gadget in downloaded file to the newly created widget.
If you still can't understand, feel free to ask for help.
Hi! great blog. thank you so much for converting these themes into blogger. i was wondering if there was any way you could convert Magazeen from smashing magazing into blogger format?
hey DKBTLT, just download this template from here.
http://btemplates.com/2009/04/08/craftwork/
You'll see that there is also another widget in this download. Install the template in normal way, after that create a new widget below your header widget in the "Page Elements" tab. The widget should be a "Text/HTML" widget. Put the contents of the widget which you downloaded into the newly created widget.
Hi first off i'd like to say thanks for the template. Its working great.
However i was wondering if i could remove the comment picture and put back the standard post count. The amount of comments on a post is some what important to me.
I would like to know how to make the code for the menu/search etc line up with the boxes. When I come to do a search the cursor is actually above the box. My other question is with regards to the search facility. I have done preliminary searches to find that it searches google not my blog. How can I rectify this? Other than those minor problems I am very impressed with this blog template. Thanks in advance.
hi...i really like this template but its hard for me to apply it for my blog. the problem is at instruction 5 "5- Please note that you need to replace the '#' with addresses from the menu code."
could you please explain to me, what do you mean by replacing the # with addresses from the menu code. what should i do...please help me...
hi, i've try to change my old template with this one but it can't work..please help me seriously i still don't understand with the menu code..please help me
Hi, i really luv this template and i want to use it for my blog. however,i want to remove the'about me' and i want to know how to increase the width for content/entry section bcoz it so near to the side bar.. i really appreciate if you could help me on this. TIA..
Hey tnx for converting this theme I really love it :D
btw, there's also another theme from EZwpthemes that I like can you please convert it to so that I could use it on blogger. Thanks! heres the link to that layout...
PS: When you convert it can you please convert it in a way that I could also change the 4 photos at the top to be some of my personal photos. If ever its possible.:D Tnx again!
Hi, how do I make the About,Faq links on top of the page to navigate to other pages? I got the links up but I don't know how to make it work as a hyperlink. Can you please help me?
Hi Pei Pei just make sure that you've downloaded the template from the download link given above in this page and not from any where else on the web. TO set up the links, you need to follow the instructions on setup of navigation menu which are also given in detail on this page.
Hi Τζίνα, Date with each post is already there, you need to change it's format. Go to "Settings" then "Formatting" scroll down and change the "Timestamp Format"
I've tried to change comments image to number of comments without success! I have to paste this (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wa6zL1GRiOs/SjZFpPJI2zI/AAAAAAAAC1Y/DwPvWe3BV7c/s1600-h/Remove+comments+picture+in+craftwork+template.PNG) somewhere in the HTML code?
No, you don't need to put the image anywhere in the code. This image is just for assistance... actually you need to find this code by going to "Layout" | "Edit HTML" and check "Expand Widget Templates" and then searching for:
hi, fantastic design.. i have set it up and for the navigation links, i guess i will need to set up these pages as posts and then linked the specific posts in the code. i believe blogger don't allow to set up pages so i have to set them up as posts. anyway, i will set these up later but currently i faced an issue here. i noticed that the alignment for the nav bar is a few inched higher than the image of the nav bar, this also applies to the search location image, thus is is a bit "ugly" when people click on the nav bar and also will mislead people when they type in the "search words" in the search location. can you help to solve this? i tried to figure it out but to no avail.. please help.. my blog is here >> http://plantamustardseed.blogspot.com/
did you received my ques? i can't see them here??? or it is waiting to be approved before it is shown.. sorry.. jst need to confirm my ques is received.. thks..
try changing margin: -5px 0 0 180px; to margin: 0 0 0 180px; and save your template and see if the navbar has moved down a bit. If you're still not satisfied then you can change margin: 0 0 0 180px; to margin: 5px 0 0 180px; it will cause navbar to move down futher.
change margin: -10px 0 0 100px; to margin: -5px 0 0 100px; save and see if the searchform is down to desired position, if not then change margin: -5px 0 0 100px; to margin: 0 0 0 100px; save and then again see if searchform is down.
if you're not comfortable with all this stuff then you can also send me your template, I'll do it myself. to do this go to Layout | Edit HTML and click on "Download Full Template" link to save your template on your hard drive. then you can mail me:
Hola Perdona que no escriba en Inglés, pero no pude usar un traductor. Deseo tu diseño, me gusta demasiado.
Hello! thank you very much for reply. What happens is that, knew that he could not translate the page (thanks for that) but I fail to understand about reemplzar "#" with directions menu. What directions? or the code of the RSS button. Forgive the inconvenience, but there are people like me who struggle to understand a bit about codes. Thanks for everything and meet my doubts.
when you've opened the text file I've included with the template and you've pasted it to the widget above your header in Page Elements tab. this is the code in the widget:
change # in <a href="#"> to the address of your blog feed like I've created a feed for my blog which is http://feeds2.feedburner.com/bloggerfaqs so I'll change the RSS code by replacing # with http://feeds2.feedburner.com/bloggerfaqs and result is:
Similarly, I'll change the navigation menu like (like home, about etc) by replacing # in their code by my own addresses. for example code for the "home" link is like this:
Similarly, I'll create a new post with title "About" which contain my blog and personal introduction and I'll replace the # in <a href="#"><img alt="About" width="82" src="http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/wp-content/themes/craftwork/images/spacer.gif" height="36"/></a> with the URL of that post. I can also make posts for FAQ and Contact links.
Is there a way to make the search bar search my blog, and not google? Also, I'd like to be able to make the sidebar so the elements (text/headers) are more centered like the preview image at the top of this page. Is there a way I can do that? Thank you so much. :)
Sorry to trouble you. Like many others I am in desperate need of your help:) I have problems with how the top links "Home About Contact FAQ and search" line up. The RSS feed link and graphic lines up ok. But the others are way off to the left of the actual graphics you would click on.
Example: When I placed the link to blogger edit under the "home" graphic, it ends up being about an inch over to the left, same problem with the search box as well. You end up having to type to the left of the search box by about an inch or so.
Also, the little graphics on the right sidebar start out fine, but as you add other sections, the text begins to fall below the graphic and cannot be seen.
my blog is here: http://happybanshee.blogspot.com/
I understand a very tiny bit of html from years ago, but no CSS or skins stuff. I do hope you can help as I want to use this template very much, it's perfect for what I need and I just love it:)
hi zEEROCKz, it's nice theme, and i try to use for my blog. i loved it very much... btw, could i change the text in menus title (home, about, contact and fax) with another title ?
thank u. please if u have enough time look at my blog in http://kisah-perjalanan.blogspot.com
Hey Um..i don't know how to make the links workk :/ and i don't know how to remove the 'about us' picture on the template. you can click on my name and you will directed to my blog. thanks thanks and i love your template, it's super pretty (:
@ D33D33ZRANTS!, the "About Us" is not a link title, it is actually part of a big background image and you can change it only by editing the background image.
The code for the image is located in Edit HTML tab. The code you can find there is:
I love this template and it really suits the theme of my blog. However, for whatever reason the word verification gets cut off half way through the word and there is no way anyone can post comments. Is there some way to fix this? Or even turn off the word verification if it can't be fixed? Thanks!
@ Stitches In Time, thanks for liking and using this template. Actually, when I converted this template, I wasn't very good in HTML/CSS but now I'm thinking of totally coding this template from scratch. Till then, please read the full instructions on this page and also disable the word verification process.
Please stay tuned to grab the new version as soon as it arrives!
Yes, finally made it! (sorry for the previous comments!!) I have one question left: is it possible to remove the toolbars under the posts (digg.com/feedburn/stumbleupon)
I know I have to stop post comments =P but it doesnt seem to be able to widen the layout... I tried with the html you gave above but it doesnt widens anything.. please help
@ Janet, yes you can remove the toolbar which contains different social bookmarking buttons, just go to Edit HTML then check Expand Widget Templates and find this code:
Thnx for your response! I would like to widen the column.. So that its more the whole screen (less space on the right and left) then just only in the center (and a lot of space on the sides).. I hope I desribed it better now..
Hi, love your template but having major problems.. on my home page all the side bar widgets are located below the blog entries.. when i click any other page like Contacts or FAQ they are located where they should be on the sidebar... also half my graphics are missing from the front page.. please let me know how I can fix this... i hate to loose all my widgets.. thanks! http://peterpiperpickedapeck.blogspot.com/
Hi - our blog is www.etheledith.blogspot.com We LOVE this template, but we have a few questions. Normally with blogger we have the ability to follow at the top of the page, but it's missing. Is there a way to get it back? Also, we would like to add 2 more buttons to showcase our For Sale Items and our Services. Is this possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
Please, I need help with posting comments. My readers have notified me that the comment section is broken and I don't know how to fix it. People used to be able to leave comments and now they can't as no comment box appears. What do I need to do to fix it? I really don't want to change templates again!!
@ Peter, please download and install the error-free version which I've just released, it also contains a setup file.
@ Ethel Edith, if you want to recover the navbar then go to Edit HTML section, find and delete this code:
.Navbar {visibility:hidden;display: none;}
If you want to add more buttons then you'll need to edit the background pic, if you don't know how to do that then tell me which buttons you want to add, I'll try to help you.
After that you'll lose some styling but don't worry. Download the latest error-free version of this template which I've just (31-10-2009) uploaded right here. Then simply install the template and follow the instructions in the setup file included with the template.
@ Ethel Edith, to add two new buttons you've to remove a couple of existing buttons (like Home, About, Contacts or FAQs). So, tell me which of the existing buttons you want to remove so that I can add your desired buttons (Sale & Services)!
Hi Bilal - I would get rid of the Home button & the Contact button and replace them with the For Sale and Services. Thanks so much - you are going above & beyond for us! We truly appreciate it!!
Hi there. I recently installed this template. I think I was abble to put it well. And it was function well. But now when we try to leave a comment or to see them ti goes to this page: http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/?p=354#comments my blog is http://afabricadojoao.blogspot.com can you please tell me what did i've done wrong. Thank you
Hi Jane & Cia, I've just checked your blog and everything is looking all right. When I clicked the Comments Link it takes me to another page where I posted a comment you can see here:
Hi -- I love this template and have mostly gotten everything set up right -- the only problem is the navigation -- the hyperlinks are not over the words in the graphics is there some way to fix it?
Thanks -- oh blog is http://bccraftfairs.blogspot.com/
Hi Bilal! Firstly I want to say thank you very much for creating such a great template! I really really love it and I consider to use it for my blog. But, I would get rid of the FAQ button. Then I would change the Contact and About button with More From Me and Authoress button. How to do that? Thank you :)
I´m Portuguese and i´m using your template that is gorgeous, but i woul like to change the date form that appears in the top of the posts, i did what you said above but it didn´t change.
What shoul i do to appear teh day of the week, and the day of the month and year? If you need to see how it appears now visit my blog.
why i can't do this!! help me please.. alwayz come out : Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly. XML error message: The markup in the document following the root element must be well-formed.
@ Tamsin, currently you're not using the Craftwork template on your blog. Anyways, please download the latest version of this blog right from here and follow the instructions, I hope you'll get good results.
@ Anonymous, just gimme the names of buttons which you want to use on your blog. I'll edit the background image and add your buttons instead of the default ones.
@ Juca, I think you want to change the format of the date which appears right below the post title. Just go to "Settings" | "Formatting" and change the "Timestamp Format".
@ Maknae Eijah, I think you're directly uploading the .rar file. After downloading the template from here, you must extract it using any compression software like 7-Zip (Google it) and then upload the .XML file to Blogger.
i love your template ^^ but i've a problem with the comments - friends couldn't leave a comment because they're send to this page www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/?p=354#comments my blog is http://grungiest-grunge.blogspot.com/ can you help me please?
I love the template but would like to change the "about us" to "about me" and change the text that follows to a larger font size. Also change the font color of the titles on widgets in the side bar to black to it shows up better. Am I able to do all that?
I'm sorry to ask so many questions but I'm also having a problem changing the home, about, etc. When I create the post, I used the date 1999 like suggested in the template setup but the post appears on my blog there is no way to hide it. I tried everything. Am I missing a step??? Thank you.
@ Christine Carol, I've edited the main background image and changed "About Us" to "About Me". To replace the current images with the new image, go to "Edit HTML" tab and find this code:
@ Christine Carol, there's no way to hide a post on a blog. By giving an old date, we just try to make that post very old so that users won't see it on the main page. However, the post will be there on the blog and if someone clicks the "Older Posts" button again and again, of course he/she will also see the oldest of posts.
Thank you for help. I was able to change everything and it looks great. I love the template. Now I understand about the post. I thought there was a trick I was missing.
hi, just wanting to know, how to make the font size bigger in the 'about me' section........other than that, this is a true work of art, part of my inspiration.....thank-you
First, happy new year and thank you for that wonderful template, I love it. I had fun installing it and stuff but now, it seems that I have a problem. I can't leave a comment. When I click on that "comment" button, I go to : http://www.ezwpthemes.com/examples/?p=354#comments
It seems that one people also had that problem a while back... =(
Hope you will be able to tell me. My blog is here : http://where-the-truth-forgives.blogspot.com/
@ Celine x), yes you're right. I can't believe that I forgot to fix this thing earlier. But I've just uploaded the updated version. Now you go to "Edit HTML" and check "Expand Widget Templates" then find:
Man, you're going to get fed up with me but i have another problem. =( I tried to replace the "About Us" url with the "About Me" one and it worked now now, it doesn't.
i love it but i have some problems: how can i write something in the About Us Box? I tried it but i didn't get it...and how can i use the navigation with About, Contacts, FAQ??
Hi, I just added this template and I LOVE it. Im having one problem, and I'm not sure why, but its doing it with ANY template I try to use.
The About Me section and everything in the second column is showing up down at the very bottom below the last post. And I tried to go to page elements and move it, but the text is sitting there by itself, not in a box. I have enough html knowledge to manage to make fonts bigger and all that, but I cant seem to fix this! Can you help?
I just downloaded this version tonight, so I thought it was the most updated, but I also still see "about us" instead of me.
@ DaJanaa_Z & Aidil, this problem was faced by many people, that is why I've just updated the post and added a step-by-step tutorial. Each step has it's own screen shot which will be great to help you out, just check that.
Its me again, I just went to post a new blog, and I noticed that when I view the post by itself, the about me and all the 2nd column is where it is supposed to be. But when I go to just view the blog as a whole, back to the bottom. Could it be something in my blog postings is too wide or something to let it show up on the side? Sorry I keep bugging you!!
so is it only me that its not showing up right for? cause it shows up that way for me only when I view one post at a time, when I go to the home, viewing all of them, it all goes back to the bottom. If its just me, Im not worried about it, but I dont get why I cant see it that way.
I found out what was wrong, one of the posts that had pictures was too wide. as soon as I deleted those pictures on that one post, everything was fine! Thanks for your help with the other stuff!! I love this template!
@ Jordan, that could be possible. Just tell me which browser you're using and take a screen shot and send it to me. You can simply press "Print Screen" button on keyboard and then open any image editor (I use Microsoft Paint) and press "Ctrl + v". Save that image and send it to me. Also go to "Edit HTML" tab of Blogger and click "Download Full Template" to download the layout and also send that to me.
After messing with this template for several hours (with no real success, even though I've never had a problem dealing with Blogger templates before) I have discovered that apparently I have an outdated version. I'm assuming the newest version is supposed to be downloadable from this very page, but every time I click Download, I get this:
Your client does not have permission to get URL /files/Craftwork%20Blogger%20Template.xml from this server.
You are attempting to perform an activity that you have insufficient permissions for. If you feel this is in error, please contact the project administrator.
Can someone tell me how to get the most current version of this template? And hopefully if I spend several hours on that one, I'll be farther along than I am right now. Thank you.
Thanks for the template :) I've got it all working smoothly except for the search facility. On your demo this does an internal search but on mine it attempts to do a google search (unsuccessfully). Also the search box still isn't quite aligned although I've followed the instructions above and the search button doesn't work so you need to press return instead. I don't mind if the search facility searches google or my blog as long as i can get it to work. Thanks again for such a lovely template
please download the template now. You're using an older version which contains Google Search. I've already removed that in the updated version. Just see the demo to feel the changes. Don't worry, if you'll install the updated layout, it will not affect the posts or comments on your blog.
Hi I'm not sure why the new version won't download for me.... is there possibly anything that I could add or take from the search form code? I don't mind if it searches google or the blog. Many thanks again for the template pip
hi Bilal, where exactly in the html do you copy "code for menu, searchform, rss"? Also, "fonts and colors" tab under Layout only shows a empty square on the left, I can't edit fonts and colors, please instruct. Thanks.
Hi Bilal, where eactly to insert "code for menu, searchform, rss"? also the tab "fonts and colors" under Layout only shows empty box, I can't edit fonts and colors. Pls. instruct. Thanks.
@ Here I am, please download the updated version from this page. I've just updated the template, now it's fully customizable through Fonts & Colors tab. You can customize the top menu links by watching this Youtube video tutorial:
Hi, thank you for the beautiful template. I have read through the comments and watched your YouTube tutorial but 2 questions haven't really been answered:
1. How do I make the search box fit into the search image? Currently, the search box pops up above the search image.
2. How do I get the search engine search only within my blog and not on Google? Currently, an error page pops up when you type in key words to execute a search.
@ Flucky Mom, these issues were present in the earlier version of the template, now both of them have been resolved, please download the updated version from this page, thanks.
Hi, I just downloaded the new version. I'm afraid I really don't like the new look of it. The "Home.About.FAQ.Contact" area was more organic to the look of the page in the original version. So is there a way you can answer my original questions about the search widget? Thanks!
That would be amazing! I really just want the search engine to line up correctly and for it to search within my blog (not through Google). Lastly, would you be so kind as to change the tag "About Us" to "About Me" THANK YOU!!
I just re-read what you wrote... Actually I liked the original version as is. Just want the search engine to line up correctly and for it to search the blog only. Plus, I don't want it to say "About US" but "About Me"
i tried the first version and unable to get the alignment for the menu and searchform correct. RSS is ok. Menu and searchform is just below RSS but above the pictures.
Download v2 and same thoughts as flucky mom. i like the original version. can you also provide me the new version with the original menu links and also advise me on the link alightment?
@ Flucky Mom, you're not using the updated version. Anyways, for comments problem, try disabling the "Word Verification" option from comments settings.
I have been reading through the comments and have tried to figure this out on my own. I watched your tutorial video as well, but the 'Home,' 'Comment' and 'FAQ' are not set up the same way as in the template. I was wondering if there is anyway to change this 'IMG' and link it up how I would like it to be. Thanks!
Ok, so I had downloaded from here originally and I figured out what happened. When I changed the 'About Us' image in the HTML code it contains the background picture for 'Home' 'Contacts' etc. as well. I there any code I can use to change the 'About Us' graphic? Thanks for all of your help!
Hi! I love this theme! But i found that the bottom icon of "Older Posts", "Newer Posts" and "Home" are showing broken image, you can refer my blog longmaycorner.blogspot.com. Any advise on this? Thanks!
